Job summary

Lumenci is seeking a QA professional to own QA for a fast-moving engineering/product team. You will drive test strategy, write test plans, and validate releases for production web applications.

Proficiency in Playwright or Cypress, API testing, and coding in JavaScript/TypeScript is required, with SQL, Git and CI/CD knowledge. This contract role emphasizes hands-on ownership from day one and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of hands-on QA experience testing production web applications, with ownership of test strategy and release quality.
• Strong API testing experience covering functional, negative, authentication/authorization, contract and edge-case scenarios.
• Hands-on coding experience in JavaScript/TypeScript; working knowledge of SQL, Git and CI/CD is required. Python exposure is a plus.
• Experience with manual, exploratory and regression testing, including writing test plans, reproducing defects and validating fixes.
• Should have experience defining release readiness / quality gates and be comfortable taking ownership of whether a feature is ready to ship.
• Exposure to testing AI/LLM-based products, including challenges such as hallucinations and non-deterministic outputs is strongly preferred.
• Understanding of RAG / retrieval-based systems and the ability to distinguish retrieval failures from generation failures is a strong advantage.
• Experience testing authentication, authorization, access control and multi-tenant applications will be preferred.
• Exposure to performance/load testing or security testing using tools such as k6, JMeter, Locust or Burp Suite is a plus.
• Senior individual contributor who can independently own QA for a fast-moving engineering/product team.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to write clear bug reports, test cases/test plans and reproduction steps.
• This is a contractual role; candidates should be comfortable joining for a fixed-term engagement and taking hands-on ownership from day one.

Responsibilities

• Own QA for a fast-moving engineering/product team and define test strategy.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright or Cypress.
• Perform API testing across functional, negative, authentication/authorization, contract and edge-case scenarios.
