Job summary

Vertical Laboratories is seeking a Quality Associate to support our ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory operations in Glendale, CA. You will maintain the quality system, handle documentation, calibrations, corrective actions, and audits to uphold accreditation.

You'll work with engineers, technicians, and customers, ensuring accuracy of data sheets and test reports, and help roll out quality improvements within the lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with ISO/IEC 17025 or ISO 9001 preferred.
• Calibration or metrology experience a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Quality Associate (ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory)

Vertical Laboratories LLC | Glendale, CA | Full-Time, Day Shift | $26.00–$32.00/hr.

Reports to: Quality Manager

Keep an accredited aerospace lab running at its best.

Our customers trust our test reports on flight and subsea hardware because our quality system backs every result. As Quality Associate, you'll work directly with our Quality Manager to maintain and improve that system. You'll cover documentation, calibration, corrective actions, and audits by A2LA, DLA, and Nadcap. It's a role where you'll learn how an accredited lab really works, from the inside.

What You'll Do:

• Create, edit, and review procedures, work instructions, forms, and templates, and keep them current with lab practice.
• Track corrective actions through closure.
• Manage the calibration program: schedule, quotes, POs, vendor shipments, and check-in; assist with in-house calibrations.
• Maintain equipment maintenance and repair records and employee training records.
• Assist with internal audits and support external assessments by A2LA, DLA, Nadcap, and customers.
• Review data sheets and test reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Help roll out and communicate quality system improvements across the lab.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience with ISO/IEC 17025 or ISO 9001 preferred.
• Calibration or metrology experience is a plus.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Google Workspace.
• Strong organization and follow-through, and a clear, respectful communication style with engineers, technicians, and customers.

You'll learn our quality system hands-on alongside our Quality Manager, with continuing education, including standards and auditing training, throughout your career. There's room to grow into more senior quality roles.

Work Environment

Office and laboratory setting. Regular time on an active lab floor with periodic elevated noise levels for audits, calibration, and equipment check-in; hearing protection provided where required. Work involves both sitting and standing, and lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
