Job summary

Bodycote plc, based in Andover, MA, seeks a Quality Assistant to support the Quality Manager and ensure customer requirements are met. The role focuses on documentation review and certification preparation prior to shipment within a safety-sensitive environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 6 months+ in thermal processing or related fields, and strong English communication. Overtime, potential shift work, and a comprehensive benefits package accompany a $25–$36/hr pay range.

This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus!

Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical and have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-3:30 pm. Must be flexible to work weekends.

Summary:

Based in Andover, MA, the Quality Assistant performs essential job functions related under limited supervision. Required to assist Quality Manager and meet customer requirements.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Analyzes all submitted documentation prior to shipment of customer parts.
• Accurately prepares and completes certifications prior to shipment and corrected certs as needed.
• Maintains quality system database, with a good understanding of ISO 9000/AS9100.
• Performs internal audits
• Assists Quality Manager as needed or required while performing other tasks as assigned or dictated by the position.
• Brings any irregularities, discrepancies or concerns to supervisor immediately.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer's inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.

Qualifications:

• This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
• Education – High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Minimum six months working experience in thermal processing, metallurgy, customer specifications, etc.
• Blueprint reading preferred.
• Two years preferred in quality organization in industries such as heat treating, manufacturing, metallurgy, aerospace and/or military specifications by education or experience.
• Must possess strong verbal communication skills, professional and patient style in dealing with customers and staff.
• Must be precise and detail oriented.
• May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends
• Must have knowledge by experience or training of basic math.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
• Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.

Physical & Mental Demands:

The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Must be able to work in a sitting and/or standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Pay & Benefits Information

The hourly pay range for this position is$25 - $36 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay under state and federal law.

This role is not eligiblefor additional compensation, including shift differential.
