The role emphasizes root-cause analysis, PPAP/ISO documentation, and collaboration with production teams to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or certificate and/or equivalent work experience in Quality/Manufacturing.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong blueprint reading and measurement tool knowledge.

We are seeking dynamic candidates who enjoy a fast-paced and team oriented work environment supported by a company with the motto \"Customers first, employees always!\"Job DescriptionTitle: Quality and Safety EngineerReports to: PHX Director of Quality and SafetyJob Purpose: Aid the Director of Quality and Safety for all quality and safety related activities across all plantsKey Responsibilities and Accountabilities:SAFETYTrain manufacturing personnel in principles of:- Weekly Safety Kata Topics;Safety Alerts;Monthly Safety Training;Conduct periodic wall to wall safety audits in different facilities;Aid in managing the JSA activities in each plant;PRODUCTION SUPPORTMaintain and evaluate quality process documentation to certified ISO standards;Maintain and analyze quality metric/performance reporting documentation;Help manage the MRB/DMR processes at each facility;Conduct weekly Process Audits and report findings;FLOOR AUDITSAudit production processes for:- Part quality;Process control;Internal ISO certificationPerform process documentation audits to identify performance gaps;PART/COMPONENT INSPECTIONS FOR VALIDATION AND VERIFICATIONPerform purchased component incoming inspection and ERP disposition;Develop and maintain part and process documentation;Disposition non-conforming material/product;Validate initial production samples to established requirements and prepare for customer submission;DIMENSIONAL CONTROL/MEASUREMENT SYSTEMSParticipate in quality control fixture design, qualification and maintenance;Maintain measurement equipment, calibrations and certifications (where applicable);NEW PART LAUNCH- Support new part launch meetings and update quality-related project actionsPerform capability study for new parts, analyze data, and recommend improvementsPrepare PPAP documentation, including control plans, PFMEA, and first part inspection reports.ROOT CAUSE/CORRECTIVE ACTION ACTIVITIESRespond to customer complaints in a timely manner;Lead root cause assessment using RCCA/8D;Actively participate in corrective action development programs;Key Measures of Success:Customer ComplaintsCost of Quality (COPQ)Number of Reportable Incidents6S AuditQualificationsTechnical degree or certificate and/or equivalent work experience involving Quality and/or Manufacturing roles and responsibilities.Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Thorough knowledge of blueprint reading and ability to use measuring tools and test equipment.Understanding and interpretation of Quality tools including but not limited to SPC, Gage R & R, and Metrology tools.Knowledge of lean problem solving tools and techniques such as A3, 8D, and Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA).Welding experience preferredThorough knowledge of what makes up a working quality management system.
