Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, seeks a quality program leader to develop and implement quality plans, using statistical QC, lean methods, and Six Sigma to ensure product conformance to standards. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement program quality plans, programs and procedures using statistical quality control, lean manufacturing, and six-sigma tools and analyses.
• Ensure performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards.
• Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
• Investigate problems and develop disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
• Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
• Recommend corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.

The Role

Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience

• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
• Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
