Job summary

The Learning Experience - Brooklyn - Broadway is seeking a Lead Teacher to create a positive learning environment for young children. You will lead a nurturing classroom, implement developmentally appropriate activities, and collaborate with staff to support high-quality early childhood education.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in early childhood education and possess related credentials, CPR/First Aid, and OCFS training.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
• Infant/Toddler CDA Credential or equivalent, when applicable.
• Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Completion of all OCFS-required health and safety training.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom.
• Demonstrate professionalism and reliability.
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Support the center's mission, philosophy, and commitment to high-quality early childhood education.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.
• Collaborate with assistant teachers and other staff.
• Maintain compliance with regulations, center policies, and licensing standards.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Model professionalism, teamwork, and ethical conduct.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and developmental needs.
• Encourage language development through conversations, songs, books, and storytelling.
