Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking dedicated Qualified Cover Teachers to join our network of secondary schools across Boston and surrounding areas. This role offers flexible full-time and part-time opportunities, with the chance to work across multiple schools and year groups.

You will deliver high-quality teaching, maintain a calm, productive classroom, and adapt quickly to different schools and subjects while building positive relationships with students and staff.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.

About The Role

Connex Education are recruiting for dedicated and enthusiastic Qualified Cover Teachers to join our network of secondary schools across Boston and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers looking for flexible teaching work, whether you are seeking regular cover, additional days alongside another role or a more varied teaching schedule.

As a Qualified Cover Teacher, you will provide high-quality teaching and continuity of learning across a variety of secondary schools, subjects and year groups. You may be required to deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the usual class teacher, support students with their learning and ensure lessons run smoothly and effectively.

You will be expected to maintain high standards of behaviour and learning, establish a calm and purposeful classroom environment and build positive relationships with students and staff. You will work across different schools and settings, so adaptability, professionalism and confidence are essential.

The successful candidate will be confident working with students aged 11–16 and able to quickly establish positive relationships within new classroom environments. You will be organised, approachable and resilient, with the ability to adapt to different school expectations, subjects and year groups.

This role is ideal for qualified teachers who value flexibility and want the opportunity to work across a range of schools without committing to a permanent position. About The Schools

Connex Education works with a wide range of secondary schools and academies across Boston and the surrounding Lincolnshire areas.

Our partner schools vary in size, setting and ethos, providing opportunities to work with different year groups, subjects and school communities. We work closely with schools to understand their individual requirements and match suitable teachers to available cover assignments.

As a flexible cover teacher, you could be working in different schools from one day to the next, or develop regular assignments with schools that are a good fit for you. Our dedicated education recruitment team will support you throughout your assignments and work with you to identify opportunities that match your preferred availability.

Opportunities may be available across Boston, Kirton, Sutterton, Swineshead and surrounding areas.

Person Specification

To be considered for this role, candidates must have / be able to demonstrate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching within a secondary school setting.

• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a calm, purposeful and positive learning environment.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with pupils and staff.

• The ability to build positive and respectful relationships with pupils.

• A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting pupil progress and school life.

• Good literacy and numeracy skills.

• The ability to adapt quickly to different schools, subjects, year groups and pupil needs.

• An understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries within a school setting.

• Adaptability and resilience when working across different educational settings.

• High standards of professional behaviour, presentation and integrity.

• A willingness to engage in professional development and respond positively to feedback.

• A full enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
