Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Morehead City, NC, seeks a Qualified Professional for Peer Support Services to join our full-time, on-site team.

You will provide screening, assessments, treatment planning, counseling, and crisis stabilization for adults in outpatient mental health and substance use treatment, collaborating with physicians and community partners to develop person-centered plans and aftercare services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with the supported population.
  • Valid, unrestricted North Carolina driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems.

Responsibilities

Your Role in Our Mission

As a Qualified Professional for Peer Support Service, you will provide screening, evaluations, diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, counseling, psychotherapy, crisis stabilization, and referral services for adults receiving outpatient mental health and substance use treatment. Working collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, community partners, and support systems, this role develops person-centered treatment and aftercare plans, facilitates individual and group services, coordinates referrals and community resources, and supports client progress across life domains.

This position follows a Monday - Friday Scheduled: 8am - 5pm

What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an entity approved by USDOE, CHEA or CACREP.
  • Minimum of Two (2) years’ experience working with the supported population and meets qualifications for Qualified Professional.
  • Must be or have been a recipient of MH or SA or both services in the past.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Valid, unrestricted North Carolina driver’s license; reliable transportation; and current vehicle insurance.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems or technically savvy.
