Job summary

M&J Engineering, a broad-based engineering and construction services firm, seeks a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector to conduct NYC Façade Inspection & Safety Program work across five boroughs. The role requires a PE or RA in NY with extensive high-rise facade inspection experience.

You will manage field crews, perform inspections from scaffolding, and produce TR6 and other required reports for the DOB. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Registered Architect (RA) in NY State.
• 7+ years of visual and close-up facade inspections on high-rise buildings using suspended scaffolding.
• Knowledge of façade repair/restoration and NYC façade rules (FISP/Local Law 11).
• Ability to prepare drawings using CAD and file TR6 reports with DOB.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate day-to-day activities of the survey field crew.
• Conduct visual and close-up inspections using binoculars and suspended scaffolding; take notes and photographs.
• Prepare reports per NYCDOB guidelines and client requirements; file TR6 and related reports with DOB.
• Perform field investigations and prepare technical reports to support compliance with Façade inspection programs.

We are seeking to hire a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) to conduct condition inspection for buildings in NYC for FISP (Façade Inspection & Safety Program) inspections in all five boroughs of NYC.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the survey field crew; conduct visual inspections using binocular and close-up inspections using suspended scaffolding, take notes and photographs, prepare the report as per the guidelines outlined by NYCDOB and our clients; prepare the TR6 and other reports and file with DOB. This role will perform field investigations, prepare technical reports and support compliance with Façade inspection programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related field required.

The Selected QEWI Must Meet The Following Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E) or Registered Architect (RA) in NY State.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience of visual and close-up facade inspections and specialized probes of cavity wall construction of high-rise buildings using suspended scaffolding.
• Knowledge of facade repair or restoration.
• Extensive knowledge of NYC façade rules, FISP / Local Law 11 requirements, DOB filing procedures for FISP report and construction drawing and NYC Construction Codes.
• Good knowledge to prepare drawings using CAD.
• Prepared the TR6 reports and filed it on DOB website.
