This is a hands-on leadership position for someone with deep knowledge of quail hunting, bird dogs and field operations, along with the vision and experience to build an exceptional program. The successful candidate will have significant autonomy to shape the hunting experience, develop the dog program, oversee quail courses and habitat, and lead a small support team.

The property encompasses approximately 3,000 acres of primary quail land and offers significant opportunity for continued development, including efforts to support and attract wild quail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, management and day-to-day operation of the quail hunting program.
  • Establish and maintain standards for a first-class hunting experience.
  • Manage, train, condition and care for a working string of bird dogs, with an anticipated program of approximately 12–15 dogs and capacity for future growth.
  • Develop and manage quail courses to support the overall hunting program.
  • Oversee hunting activities, field preparation, equipment and related operational needs.
  • Recruit, train and supervise one to two assistants supporting kennel, hunting and land operations.
  • Work with property leadership to establish priorities and continually improve the program.
  • Support habitat-management efforts designed to improve quail habitat and encourage opportunities for wild birds.
  • Maintain appropriate records related to dogs, veterinary care, training, equipment and program operations.
  • Ensure high standards for safety, animal care, property stewardship and equipment maintenance.
  • Coordinate with other property staff and outside resources as necessary.

  • Experience leading employees, guides, kennel staff or other support personnel.
