Wildwood Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to join our team.

Purpose/Belief Statement

The position of the Qualified Medication Aide exists to provide routine medication administration and personal care for residents, ensuring the highest quality resident care. The role involves effective teamwork, resource management, and supporting team successes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Set up and administer medication according to physician’s orders and regulations.
  • Understand side effects, interactions, and nursing implications of medications.
  • Account for controlled drugs each shift and report discrepancies.
  • Chart medications, omissions, and observations accurately.
  • Maintain medication inventory.
  • Participate in rounds with nurses and physicians.
  • Prepare monthly medication records.
  • Provide personal care and basic nursing functions.
  • Create a safe, comfortable environment for residents.
  • Maintain documentation of residents' activities and care plans.
  • Attend training and educational programs to maintain certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to policies and safety standards.
Qualifications, Knowledge/Skills & Abilities
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Graduate of an approved Nurse Aide Training Program or eligible to enter and complete such a program within 120 days.
  • Valid QMA certification in Indiana.
  • Knowledge of medication procedures and successful completion of training.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Understanding of resident care standards.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Effective communication and tactful interaction with residents, families, and staff.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle challenging residents.
  • Openness to learning and applying new methods.
  • Ability to relate resident condition information clearly.
