Job summary

Quality Correctional Care, Sullivan County Jail, Sullivan, Indiana, is seeking a motivated Quality Medical Technician (QMT) to support clinical operations. Responsibilities include administering medications, obtaining vital signs, and assisting in sick calls per medical protocols to ensure timely, compassionate care for incarcerated patients.

Candidates should have CPR certification, at least 6 months in healthcare, and EMT/QMA/CMA credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is required.
• Experience in medical field is required (minimum 6 months).
• EMT or CMA/QMA certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Medication administration.
• Obtaining vital signs.
• Assisting in sick call using medical protocols.
• Communicating with the Medical Provider or on-call staff.
• Responding to medical emergencies.
• Maintain accurate patient charts.
• Collect laboratory specimens as needed.

Quality Medical Technician (QMT) Responsibilities:

• Medication administration
• Obtaining vital signs
• Assisting in sick call using medical protocols
• Communicating with the facility or on-call Medical Provider
• Respond to medical emergencies
• Be capable of performing life saving measures and ability to take charge and give direction in an emergency
• Collect laboratory specimens, as needed
• Follow the “Rules of 100” and provide patient care as specified
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in patient charts

Location:

Sullivan County Jail, Sullivan, Indiana

Shift Opening(s):

7 AM to 7 PM, 3 days per week with every other weekend rotation

Requirements:

• Active CPR certification
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in the medical field
• EMT, QMA, or CMA certification highly preferred
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
