In This Role You Will:
- Administers non-parenteral medications and performs treatments according to written physicians’ orders and scope of practice. Notes any adverse reactions and takes appropriate measures, including notifying supervisor, charge nurse and/or Director of Nursing. May perform accuchecks once checked off on this skill by in-service director.
- Assists in admission and assessment of new residents.
- Administers PRN medications and performs treatments upon authorization of charge nurses, nursing supervisor, and/or the director of nursing. Documents result of all PRN medications and treatments.
- Takes and records temperatures, pulses, respirations, and blood pressures per community written policy.
- Adheres to the resident's medication and care schedules, notifies supervisor and makes adjustments to schedules as needed.
- Promptly addresses resident toileting needs and incontinence issues within state and/or federal regulations. Changes incontinent residents as necessary and rinses dirty linen before sending to the laundry. Reports same to the charge nurse and/or director of nursing.
- Observes and reports unusual symptoms, changes, accidents, and injuries to the charge nurse, nursing supervisor, and/or the director of nursing in a timely manner.
- Documents pertinent information on resident’s records according to the community written policy and the Indiana Department of Health regulations.
Assures anxious and disoriented residents to alleviate fears and to put them at
ease.
- Responds to call lights by sight or sound in a timely manner and provides or
obtains the necessary care.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Shift Details:
Part Time, Nights, 7p - 7a, Every Friday Night
Qualifications:
- Detail oriented individual with previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required
- Physically capable, dependable, and prepared to actively engage in hands-on work, including bending, twisting, stretching, repetitive motion, pushing, pulling, and safely lifting or moving up to 75 pounds in support of daily operations
- Eager to learn and grow, with the ability to quickly absorb on-the-job training and apply new skills effectively to meet and exceed performance expectations
- Certified as a CNA in Indiana and in good standing
