Job summary

Hoosier Village in Indianapolis, Indiana, is seeking an LPN to support residents and enhance quality of life through skilled nursing care.

You will admit, assess, administer medications, monitor conditions, and collaborate with physicians and families to maintain high standards of care. This on-site role offers growth opportunities within a compassionate, team‑driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
  • Active LPN license in good standing.
  • Physically capable and prepared for hands-on care, with ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Eager to learn and grow, with ability to absorb on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

  • Admission, transfer, and discharge of residents on the unit.
  • Administer medications and treatments and maintain accurate charting according to laws and policies.
  • Ensure timely medication administration and note adverse reactions.
  • Inventory medications and place orders as needed, watching for pharmacy errors.
  • Perform routine rounds and adapt standard nursing procedures as required.
  • Observe and report resident conditions to physicians, DON, and family promptly.
  • Maintain Hoosier Village and BHI care philosophies and high standards of resident care.
  • Meet all mandated Hoosier Village, Federal and State in-service education hours.
  • Promote dignity and well-being of residents and families.

In This Role You Will:

  • Responsible for admission, transfer, and discharge of residents to and from Hoosier Village.
  • Responsible for administering medications and treatment, and maintaining proper charting for the unit, in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that medications are administered timely, and treatments performed
    according to physicians’ written or verbal order. Notes adverse reactions and
    takes appropriate measures.
  • Inventories medication supplies and orders medications by telephone from the
    pharmacy as needed and is alert to possible pharmacy errors by reading labels.
  • Makes routine rounds of assigned residents and modifies standard nursing
    procedures for care in specific areas.
  • Observes and report symptoms/conditions of residents to the treating
    physician, director of nursing, and family in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for assisting in maintaining the Hoosier Village and BHI's facility and nursing care philosophies, through quality nursing.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of resident care.
  • Responsible for all mandated Hoosier Village, Federal and State annual hours of in-service education.
  • Promote and respect the dignity and well-being of each resident and their family and staff.

Who You Are:

  • Individual with a diploma from and accredited school of nursing
  • Maintains an active license in good standing as defined by the relative State Department of Registration and Education.
  • Physically capable, dependable, and prepared to actively engage in hands‑on work, including bending, twisting, stretching, repetitive motion, pushing, pulling, and safely lifting or moving up to 75 pounds in support of daily operations
  • Eager to learn and grow, with the ability to quickly absorb on‑the‑job training and apply new skills effectively to meet and exceed performance expectations
