Job summary

Adams Woodcrest Assisted Living in Decatur, IN seeks a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to administer non-parenteral medications under physician plans and under supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in a long-term care setting.

This part-time position requires Indiana QMA licensure and BLS/CPR certification, with a 11:00 PM–7:00 AM third shift (14 hours per week) and every other weekend commitment.

Qualifications

• BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Administer non-parenteral medications under physician plan and supervision of RN or LPN.
• Follow established policies and procedures.

Description

Qualified Medication Aides (QMA) in the state of Indiana are permitted to administer non-parenteral medications in long-term care facilities in accordance with a physician ’ s plan of treatment and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. QMAs are not allowed to do invasive procedures and assessing. The QMA is expected to follow the instructions issued by the physician or licensed nurse according to established policies and procedures.
