Job summary

Community Health Care in Tacoma, WA, seeks a Quality Improvement Nurse Manager to provide clinical oversight for back-office services and supervise QA staff. You will drive competency, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, and quality initiatives across clinics.

You will collaborate with Compliance, Quality, and Risk leadership and serve as a liaison with public health agencies to support patient safety and organizational performance.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Washington State with 8 years of community health or ambulatory care experience.
• 5 years nursing supervision experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience with infection control, vaccine programs, and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversees clinical back-office operations and ensures quality, continuity, and consistency of nursing and clinical support services.
• Coordinates competency assessments for Medical Assistants, Dental Assistants, and nursing staff.

Under the direction of the Compliance Officer, the Nurse Manager provides clinical oversight for all back-office clinical services and supervises Quality Improvement Coordinators and Special Program RNs. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of clinical support services through staff development, competency management, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives. The Nurse Manager serves as a key clinical resource, collaborates closely with Compliance, Quality, and Risk leadership, and acts as a liaison with public health agencies to support organizational programs, regulatory requirements, and patient safety efforts.Essential functions (but not limited to):Oversees clinical back-office operations and ensures quality, continuity, and consistency of nursing and clinical support services.Coordinates initial and annual competency assessments for Medical Assistants, Dental Assistants, and nursing staff.Evaluates clinical staff performance and supports coaching, training, and performance improvement initiatives.Coordinates waived testing training, competency validation, and CLIA-waived testing compliance requirements.Supports staffing, organizational development, clinical program implementation, and new employee orientation.Develops and coordinates clinical education, in-service training, and patient education activities.Assists with the development, implementation, and review of clinical policies and procedures.Supports Medical Assistant and Dental Assistant training programs and staff competency development.Oversees vaccine program compliance, Vaccine for Children (VFC) requirements, and vaccine storage and monitoring activities.Leads the organization's infection prevention and control program, including staff training, compliance monitoring, and annual risk assessments.Oversees biohazardous waste management, sterilization processes, hand hygiene auditing, and exposure control programs.Supports outbreak response, occupational health initiatives, and pandemic preparedness activities.Participates in Quality Improvement, Risk Management, and Compliance Committees to support organizational goals and regulatory requirements.Assists with audits, chart reviews, accreditation readiness, quality investigations, and performance improvement activities.Serves as a liaison with public health agencies, laboratories, and regulatory organizations regarding clinical programs and compliance matters.Supports special projects and other duties as assigned to advance quality, patient safety, and organizational performance.Minimum requirements:Required:1. Registered Nurse with 8 years Community Health or Ambulatory Care experience.2. 5 years nursing supervision experience.Certification/Licensure:Current Washington State nursing licensePreferred:Master’s degree in nursing, Public Health, or related field.Infection Control Certification.Experience with oversight or participation in medical research.We encourage anyone with a relevant combination of education and experience to apply
