Job summary

Nabors is seeking an experienced HSE Leader to provide guidance for Canrig Manufacturing facilities, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental programs. Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant management experience within HSE.
  • 1+ years previous experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly within oilfield capital equipment.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to influence and guide management.
  • Promote safe practices and participate in all HSE programs.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills; interface with management.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with MS Office and PowerBI for reporting.
  • Systematic and disciplined approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and promotes a proactive safety culture.
  • Manages direct reports on the implementation of HSE standards, programs and practices.
  • Plans and implements QHSE standards in compliance with regulations.
  • Reviews hazard assessments and recommends corrective action.
  • Promotes integrated systems like Intelex and HSE dashboards.
  • Supports Area HSE teams and Operations Management in hazard correction.
  • Advises BU Leadership on compliance concerns and preventive actions.
  • Develops and implements best practices and We Always Check/JSA.
  • Manages safety, environmental and OSHA meetings, training and records.
  • Prepares material for company and customer meetings.
  • Maintains documents for OSHA, EPA, etc.
  • Manages emergency response and incident investigations.
  • Maintains incident statistics and HSE reporting.
  • Travels domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Directs and promotes the company in building and engaging in a proactive safety culture
  • Manages direct reports on the implementation of HSE standards, programs and promotes our Integrated Journey to Excellence
  • Manages, plans and the implementation of QHSE standards and execution in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations
  • Manages and reviews work site hazard assessments, identifies unsafe acts/conditions or unsafe behaviors, provides recommendations for corrective action to management team and informs the relevant BU Executives
  • Promotes the use of integrated systems and programs such as Intelex, HSE Dashboards and Safety in the Moment
  • Provide support and guidance to Area HSE teams and Operations Management in correction of identified hazards
  • Advises the relevant BU Leadership on compliance concerns and preventative actions
  • Develops and implements best practices, action plans and We Always Check/JSA
  • Manages company safety, environmental and OSHA mandated meetings, seminars, training classes and record retention, as required.
  • Participate, prepare and present required material in company and customer meetings
  • Manage and create documents, policies and procedures for company and regulatory agencies, e.g., OSHA, EPA, etc
  • Manage emergency response and preparations for designated locations
  • Direct, manage and provide expertise for incident investigations, case management, near misses, environmental and/or equipment damage.
  • Manage incident statistical data and HSE reporting system for the business unit
  • Manage regulatory required forms such as OSHA 300 Log and TIER II Reporting
  • Manages the maintenance of safety files and records
  • Work with cross functional teams such as Learning and Development, Human Resources and Finance to ensure smooth business operations
  • Provides compliance and performance reports to senior management
  • Implements improvements to achieve optimum program performance
  • Provide assistance to Risk Management for incidents and workers compensation
  • Frequent travel domestically to area of responsibility and internationally as needed
Qualifications

Minimum:

  • 5+ years of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) experience
  • 3+ years of relevant management experience within HSE, or 3 years in similar position
  • 1+ years previous experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly within oilfield capital equipment (top drive, catwalk, etc)
  • Previous leadership experience with the ability to influence and guide shop and area management
  • Ability to promote working safe practices and participating in all HSE programs
  • High level verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interface and properly communicate with management as well as semi-skill laborers to help ensure clear understanding of company HSE guidelines, rules, policy, and procedures
  • Familiarity &/or experience in OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements
  • Skilled in the assessment, development, and implementation of a workplace culture change to establish a safe work environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common reports in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PowerBI. Must possess basic knowledge and skills in window-based computer systems
  • Systematic and disciplined approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Other duties and projects as required

Preferred:

  • Health, Safety and Environment bachelor’s degree or similar education
  • 7+ years of HSE experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly within oilfield capital equipment (top drive, catwalk, etc)
  • Previous experience in the Oil and Gas industry
  • ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 knowledge and program familiarity, with a preference for certification
  • HSE related certification such as OSHA 30, CSP, NEBOSH and other industry related certifications or accreditations
