Austin Bridge & Road is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC/QA Inspector to support aviation-related heavy civil construction projects within the North Texas region. The QC/QA Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, with a focus on airfield infrastructure such as runways, taxiways, aprons, and associated civil works.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards
• Monitor and document materials, workmanship, and construction methods for conformance to FAA, DOT, and other applicable standards
• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials
• Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, reports, and non-conformance logs
• Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues in a timely manner
• Assist in the development and implementation of project-specific quality control plans (QCPs)
• Participate in pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and quality audits
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed during inspection activities
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
• Minimum 3 years of QC/QA experience in heavy civil construction, preferably in aviation or airfield projects
• Familiarity with FAA specifications, ASTM standards, and local/state DOT requirements
• Certifications such as ACI, NICET, or equivalent are highly desirable
• Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam)
  
  

Requirements

• Field-based role with exposure to active construction sites and varying weather conditions
• May require night or weekend work depending on project schedules
