Position Overview

Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for an Equipment Service Manager for heavy civil projects in the North Texas area. The Equipment Service Manager is responsible for maximizing the utilization of Austin Bridge and Road’s equipment across the project spectrum, with an emphasis on scheduling and allocation of equipment resources, assessing project needs, and developing optimized, low-cost solutions.

Responsibilities:

• P & L responsibility for ABR equipment across a $600M+ operating landscape.
• Coordinate with existing equipment platform and refine, develop, and implement new infrastructure-based utilization and management programs.
• Participate in the development of capture plans with a focus on equipment strategy.
• Optimize existing equipment management plans, including service intervals, inspections, certifications, and safety bulletins for heavy highway equipment.
• Coordinate with Project and Area Managers regarding equipment availability and needs on all ABR projects.
• Work with Mechanics on each JV project site regarding Austin-supplied equipment and equipment business opportunities.
• Prepare, negotiate, and finalize purchase orders, master service agreements, lease agreements, and rental agreements for ABR equipment procurement.
• Coordinate with project personnel and Joint Venture Partners for equipment-related activities.
• Manage internal rental rates, rent tracking, transfers, and cost projections for maintenance and repair decisions on ABR equipment.
• Prepare financial models for efficient equipment utilization with assistance from ABR accounting.
• Assist Superintendents and Project Managers with operator training and mobilizations.
• Oversee crane erections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in construction equipment management.
• Strong knowledge of construction equipment types (excavators, loaders, backhoes, cranes, bulldozers, etc.).
• Budgeting and financial management skills for handling repair costs, inventory, and service contracts.
• Experience with maintenance and repair of construction equipment, including preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Knowledge of local, state, and national statutes regarding equipment licensing, certifications, permitting, and hauling.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious manner.

Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification.
• Proficiency in general office software (Microsoft Office Suite) for reporting and administrative tasks.
• Experience with HCSS and Heavy Equipment 360.
• Proven experience managing a service team or repair crew.
• Experience with procurement and terms and conditions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel to various project sites across the North Texas Region.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Availability for on-call work as needed.
