Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure in Kalamazoo, MI, is seeking a non-exempt quality control technician to perform routine tests on raw materials, in-process components and finished product in an industrial manufacturing setting. You will conduct compressive strength tests, inspection, monitor production, and report quality concerns while supporting a small team and maintaining documentation.

A high school diploma and QC experience are required; ACI/PCI certification is preferred or must be obtained

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Quality control experience in related industry.
• ACI/PCI Certification preferred, or required to pass ACI Concrete Field Testing within 3 months and maintain certification.
• Basic computer and tablet skills; ability to read/write simple instructions and communicate effectively with team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily compressive strength testing of hardened concrete specimens
• Perform daily pre/post pour inspections on products
• Monitor production operations as required
• Pipe patching and assisting pipe crew when necessary with strip, setup, and pouring of products
• Report to management team on process improvements, repetitive mistakes, and quality concerns
• Oversee team of 3-4 individuals
• Responsible for receiving and filing raw material reports for documentation
• Contact for State DOT agencies, ACI, NPCA
• Other responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
