Job summary

Bunge Decatur, Alabama is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform sampling and routine testing to determine chemical and physical characteristics of materials, ensuring quality control and compliance with Good Laboratory Practices.

The role requires 4–6 years of lab experience in relevant industries, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays. Experience with SAP is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; science/technical associate degree preferred.
• 4–6 years of lab experience in oils & fats or related industries.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical and chemical testing of raw materials and finished products.
• Verify test results against product and customer specifications.
• Issue certificates of analysis and maintain testing databases.
• Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
• Calibrate instruments and maintain logs and records.
• Maintain lab safety, waste disposal, and inventory controls.
• Assist with root cause analyses and problem-solving activities.
• Troubleshoot lab instrumentation and support QA processes.
