Job summary

Yoh Life Sciences in Elkton, MD is seeking a hands-on Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily quality-control laboratory activities in a polymer compounding setting. You will coordinate testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications while collaborating with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.

This role requires at least 2 years in QC lab within an ISO-regulated environment, with a chemistry/polymer-related technical degree

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in quality-control laboratory or related manufacturing laboratory.
• Experience in ISO-regulated quality environment.
• Some college coursework; degree in a related technical field preferred.
• Experience performing laboratory testing and using laboratory instruments.
• Ability to follow established testing procedures and document results.
• Basic math skills including calculations, measurements, percentages, unit conversions.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
• Ability to recognize abnormal or out-of-specification test results.
• Ability to train and provide guidance to laboratory associates.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform QC testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished polymer products.
• Operate instruments and equipment per procedures and test methods.
• Perform routine instrument calibrations and verify performance.
• Maintain laboratory procedures, specifications, and quality documentation.
• Review test results for accuracy and identify out-of-spec results.
• Train laboratory associates on QC procedures, testing methods, equipment operation, documentation, and safety requirements.
• Investigate product-quality issues with Quality and Engineering teams; support corrective actions.
• Assist with CAPA and root-cause investigations.
• Provide laboratory testing to support Manufacturing and Quality teams.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Follow ISO quality-system requirements and continuously improve procedures.
