PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- 1. Interprets procedures, specifications, and drawings to determine if product meets standards.
- 2. Uses calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, thickness gauges, surf testers, radius gauges, and height gauges to determine if product meets standards.
- 3. Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- 4. Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to QC Lead or production supervisor.
- 5. Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
- 6. Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database to create required documentation.
- 7. Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
- 8. Notify QC Lead or quality management of trending nonconformances / rework issues.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- 9. Provide on the job training to new employees as needed.
- 10. Follow all safety and health policies and procedures issued by the company.
- 11. Other duties as assigned.
- 12. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- 1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 2. Ability to utilize and read quality inspection equipment accurately.
- 3. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- 4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
- 5. Forklift certification preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel toed work boots, and gloves. PPE REQUIRED Safety glasses, ear protection, steel toed boots, and gloves. Use of grinder/cutting torch equipment requires face shield or goggles. FALL PROTECTION ASSESSMENT N/A
