Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking QA/QC Inspectors to test and inspect welds, materials, and processes in industrial construction projects. The role involves reviewing blueprints, sampling materials, and ensuring compliance with specifications. Strong QC experience and knowledge of welding standards are essential.

Ideal candidates hold a CWI certificate or equivalent, with NACE I-II and LVL II PT NDE credentials preferred. The position requires rigorous attention to quality, safety, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current CWI certification or have equivalent Quality Control experience.
• NACE I-II certification or demonstrated NACE experience is required.
• LVL II PT NDE certification or equivalent NDE training preferred.
• Must have extensive knowledge of multiple welding processes and materials used for each process.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
• Inspect, approve, or reject welds according to specifications.
• Inspect raw materials and fabricated components.
• Coordinate with welders, supervisors and QA/QC personnel on process specifications.
• Test welders for qualifications and maintain QC records.
• Supervise examinations, inspections, or tests as required by project or client.
• Provide reports on program status and personnel performance as needed.

This position will also inspect welds, flange assemblies, weld map.

This position will also inspect welds, flange assemblies, weld map.

Responsibilities Position Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
• Inspect, approve, or reject welds according to specifications.
• Inspect raw materials.
• Provide information regarding processes and specifications to welders, supervisors, and other appropriate members.
• Will test welders for qualifications.
• Will interact and coordinate efforts with contracted or internal weld x-ray teams.
• Supervise and review project requirements, determine minimal requirements and procedures, and schedule and coordinate required examinations, inspections, or tests for the discipline or project segment assigned to.
• Supervises or performs examinations, inspections, or tests as project management and/or client requires.
• Assists management in selecting and/or testing personnel to perform specific work activities to ensure work meets project requirements.
• Supervises or schedules examinations, inspections, or tests as required by project for discipline assigned to.
• Supervises, completes and maintains inspection, test, examination, and Quality Control Records.
• Assures implementation of job site Quality Control Program.
• Trains and evaluates Quality Control Personnel.
• Provide reports to Quality Assurance Control on program status and personnel performance as required.
• Coordinates discipline examination, inspection, and test plans with Quality Control personnel, project management, and client representatives.

Qualifications Qualification Highlights

• Must have a current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certificate or Quality Control experience.
• NACE I-II
• LVL II PT NDE
• Must have extensive knowledge of multiple types of welding processes, and the materials used for each process.
• Must have good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Must be organized
• Must be able to work in Excel and Microsoft Office
• Must be a team player and have effective communication skill in dealing with co-workers and any other work-related contacts.
• Must have basic knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.
• Must be able to use problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks.
• Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
• Must have a TWIC
• Must have reliable transportation.

Preferred Additional Qualification

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’d employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Experience working as a welder on industrial construction projects.
• Must have 3+ years of experience working as a welding inspector.
• Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must be able to work at heights more than 300 ft.
• Must have all required tools.
