Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking QA/QC Inspectors to test and inspect multiple systems, welding, and materials across industrial projects onsite. The role emphasizes adherence to specifications, welding inspection, and quality control processes in a heavy construction environment.

The position requires CWI or equivalent QC experience, NACE I-II, LVL II PT NDE, and strong communication skills to coordinate with welders, supervisors, and client reps.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current CWI certificate or have quality control experience.
• NACE I-II certification.
• LVL II PT NDE.
• Extensive knowledge of welding processes and materials.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Organized and proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Team player with effective communication with coworkers and clients.
• Familiar with heavy industrial construction processes.
• Problem solving and critical thinking to resolve issues including safety risks.
• Willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
• TWIC credential and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
• Inspect, approve, or reject welds per specifications.
• Inspect raw materials.
• Provide process and specification information to welders and supervisors.
• Test welders for qualifications.
• Coordinate with weld x-ray teams.
• Schedule examinations and tests for the assigned discipline or project.
• Supervise or perform examinations, inspections or tests as required.
• Assist management in selecting personnel for work activities.
• Maintain inspection, test, and Quality Control records.
• Ensure implementation of the job site Quality Control Program.
• Train and evaluate Quality Control personnel.
• Provide reports to Quality Assurance on program status.
• Coordinate examination/test plans with QC, project mgmt, and client reps.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
• Inspect, approve, or reject welds according to specifications.
• Inspect raw materials.
• Provide information regarding processes and specifications to welders, supervisors, and other appropriate members.
• Will test welders for qualifications.
• Will interact and coordinate efforts with contracted or internal weld x-ray teams.
• Supervise and review project requirements, determine minimal requirements and procedures, and schedule and coordinate required examinations, inspections, or tests for the discipline or project segment assigned to.
• Supervises or performs examinations, inspections, or tests as project management and/or client requires.
• Assists management in selecting and/or testing personnel to perform specific work activities to ensure work meets project requirements.
• Supervises or schedules examinations, inspections, or tests as required by project for discipline assigned to.
• Supervises, completes and maintains inspection, test, examination, and Quality Control Records.
• Assures implementation of job site Quality Control Program.
• Trains and evaluates Quality Control Personnel.
• Provide reports to Quality Assurance Control on program status and personnel performance as required.
• Coordinates discipline examination, inspection, and test plans with Quality Control personnel, project management, and client representatives.

Qualifications

Qualification Highlights

• Must have a current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certificate or Quality Control experience.
• NACE I-II
• LVL II PT NDE
• Must have extensive knowledge of multiple types of welding processes, and the materials used for each process.
• Must have good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Must be organized
• Must be able to work in Excel and Microsoft Office
• Must be a team player and have effective communication skill in dealing with co-workers and any other work-related contacts.
• Must have basic knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.
• Must be able to use problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks.
• Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
• Must have a TWIC
• Must have reliable transportation.

Preferred Additional Qualification

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’d employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Experience working as a welder on industrial construction projects.
• Must have 3+ years of experience working as a welding inspector.
• Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must be able to work at heights more than 300 ft.
• Must have all required tools.
