Job summary

South Bay Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector for the graveyard shift to ensure compliance with customer and company specifications. You will inspect incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, analyze results, and document findings.

The role requires reading blueprints, GD&T knowledge, and experience with various inspection tools. Responsibilities include data entry, NCR reporting, and KPI tracking in the ERP system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Up to 2 years of mechanical inspection experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5M standards.
• Ability to apply geometry, trigonometry and datum structures.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Perform inspections on surface plates and other inspection equipment.
• Measure and test products using inspection tools and equipment.
• Conduct visual inspections to meet customer and company requirements.
• Maintain product identification and traceability records.
• Document inspection data, create reports, and issue NCRs in the ERP system.
• Accept or reject products based on inspection results.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and KPI tracking.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Quality Inspector is responsible for maintaining South Bay Solutions' quality standards by inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products. This role includes analyzing inspection results, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with customer and company specifications.

Shift

Graveyard Shift

• Monday - Friday
• 9:00PM to 5:35 AM

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Perform inspections on surface plates and other inspection equipment.
• Measure and test products using a variety of inspection tools and equipment.
• Conduct visual inspections to customer and company requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Preferred Experience

• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification.
• Experience using:
• Keyence Video CMM
• Optical Comparator with Quadra-Chek 200
• Manual Mitutoyo CMM
• Zeiss CMM programs
• Ability to:
• Set up and troubleshoot CMM programs
• Validate parts using multiple inspection methods
• Analyze and trend inspection data and KPIs
• Communicate inspection methods and results effectively
