Position Summary
Perform inspections, tests, and sampling of standard parts, units, equipment or materials. Inspect purchased parts, subassemblies or finished products; rework or reject as required; conduct audits to maintain quality standards; document results; coordinate calibration; assist in updating inspection procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform repetitive and routine inspections, checks, tests and sampling procedures of standard parts, units, equipment or materials.
- Inspect purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products according to well‑defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements.
- Rework or reject subassemblies or finished products as required.
- Conduct audits to ensure standards of quality are maintained.
- Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.
- Coordinate calibration of test equipment and fixtures.
- Assist in writing and updating inspection procedures, protocols and checklists.
Expertise: Knowledge & Skills
- Work is routine and repetitious within narrowly defined parameters.
- Follow established procedures and guidelines; receive detailed instructions.
- Use limited judgment to resolve problems.
- Contact primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers; occasional contact with external contractors/vendors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/G.E.D. required; Associate’s or technical degree preferred.
- 0‑2 years related experience required.
- Applicable industry/professional certification preferred.
- Regular and predictable on‑site attendance.
- Executed confidentiality agreements and non‑compete agreements.
- Ability to work a non‑standard schedule as needed.
Physical Demands
- Light work: up to 20 lb. of force occasionally.
- Reaching upward and downward, push/pull; standing, sitting.
- Visual acuity with or without corrective lenses.
- Environmental conditions: proximity to moving parts; exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals in most areas.
Work Environment
- Noise intensity: moderate.
- Typical environment: office and production/manufacturing.
Compensation
Hourly Pay Rate: $16.71 – $20.74.
