Job summary

Belvac is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform a wide range of inspection functions across receipt, in-process, first piece, final and assembly stages. You will document results, monitor process surveillance, and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.

The role requires basic CMM skills, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to travel on a seven-day cycle if needed. A high school diploma or GED is required, with 2 years of manufacturing inspection experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• 2 years as a quality inspector in manufacturing, or machinist with equivalent education.
• Willing to work all shifts and travel on a 7-day cycle if needed.
• Math, Geometry and Trigonometry knowledge required.
• Basic CMM skills required.
• Visual acuity for inspection and gauging.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of inspection functions per procedures, including Receipt, In-Process, First Piece, Final and Assembly inspections.
• Document and monitor process surveillance activities.
• Operate measurement tools and record results in ERP databases.
• Adhere to Quality Management System guidelines and internal SOPs.
• Assist with non-conformances and corrective actions as needed.

General Function:

Perform a wide range of inspection functions in accordance with approved procedures and/or instructions

Primary Responsibilities:

• It is every BPM, Inc. Employee’s responsibility to be aware of and work with Belvac’s current documented Quality Management System as it pertains to their job requirements
• Perform a wide range of inspection functions in accordance with approved procedures and/or instructions. These functions include but may not be limited to:
• Receipt Inspection to include staging of parts and materials
• In Process Inspections
• First piece
• Final
• Final Inspection
• Assembly Inspection
• Process Surveillances
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Knowledge Required to Perform Job:

Basic Inspection Skills:

• Able to perform basic inspection using Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators and basic hand gauges
• Basic Blueprint Reading
• Basic Math skills
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
• Basic PC skills
• Microsoft Windows
• IFS & Receipt inspection databases
• Performing inquiries on ERP systems
• Perform and document process surveillance activities

Coordinate Measuring Machine Skills:

• Load and run programs on Direct Computer Control (DCC)-CMM
• Manual CMM operation knowledge a plus

Education:

• High school graduate or GED

Experience:

• 2 years of experience as a quality inspector in a manufacturing environment or machinist. Equivalent education may be acceptable in lieu of experience.
• Ability to work all shifts and travel on a continuous seven-day work cycle if needed
• A working knowledge of Mathematics, Geometry and Trigonometry
• Basic CMM skills
• Visual acuity to perform inspection, read gauging and perform visual inspections

Physical Activities Required to Perform Job:

• Manual lifting may be required of items up to 35 pounds. (proper lifting techniques)
• Extended periods of time standing.
• Must be able to bend and kneel freely.
