Job summary

Unigen Corporation in Newark, CA seeks a QC Inspector – AOI to operate the AOI machine, inspect SMT assemblies, and support line activities. You will review AOI results, work with processing and engineering to improve defect yields, and ensure IPC-A-610 compliance.

You will read drawings and BOMs, load programs, document defects, and contribute to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives. Requires a minimum of 3 years AOI experience, a high school diploma, IPC-A-610 certification, and knowledge

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating AOI equipment.
• High School Diploma.
• IPC-A-610 Certification.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, and ESD.

Responsibilities

• Operate the AOI and support line activities.
• Review AOI inspections for accurate detection of defects.
• Collaborate with processing and engineering to improve yields.
• Inspect components using AOI per IPC-A-610 standards.
• Read drawings, BOMs, MPI, ECN, and other docs related to inspection.
• Load AOI programs per instructions.
• Perform AOI inspection for accurate detection of SMT paste and joints.
• Assist engineers in data collection and evaluations.
• Document defects.
• Inspect per IPC-A-610 standards using a microscope.
• Support improvement initiatives and participate in 5S.
• Other duties related to AOI and Production as assigned.

Job Title: QC Inspector – AOI

Location: Newark, CA.

Job Summary

The QC Inspector – AOI operates the AOI machine, performs quality inspections using AOI, and provides AOI support. Reports to Quality Engineering Manager.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Operate the AOI and support line activities.
• Review AOI inspections for accurate, consistent detection of component placement and solder joint defects.
• Collaborate with processing and engineering teams to improve visual defect yields.
• Inspect components or feature chips, ICs, joints, text, connectors, etc., using the AOI according to IPC-A-610 standards.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, MPI, ECN, Deviation and other manufacturing documentation related to inspection.
• Load AOI programs per instructions.
• Perform AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement, and solder joint defect.
• Assist engineers in data collection and engineering evaluations.
• Document defects.
• Inspect per IPC-A-610 standards using a microscope.
• Support improvement initiatives and actively participate in improving work environment (5S).
• Other duties and responsibilities related to AOI Support and Production as assigned.

Required Education & Experience
