In this role, you will ensure the quality of smaller parts, typically ranging from one inch to four inches, with a focus on plastic parts and insert molding. Take sample parts from machines and bring them to the quality lab for inspection.
Measure parts according to specifications using calipers, drop indicators, and micrometers.
Enter quality data into software accurately.
Use equipment both on the floor and in the lab to ensure quality control.
Communicate discrepancies effectively and proactively.
Prior experience working in the quality department with plastic parts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge and experience using calipers, drop indicators, and micrometers.
Ability to read blueprints and possess basic math, computer, writing, and reading skills.
High school graduate with inspection experience preferred.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Experience using optical comparators.

Work the 3rd shift hours from 11:45 PM to 8:15 AM, Monday to Saturday morning, with initial training on the 1st shift from 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM. The role requires comfort working night shifts, fostering a unique camaraderie among team members.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
