Job summary

redShift Recruiting LLC is seeking a meticulous Quality Control Inspector for an onsite role in Johnstown, NY. You will perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of raw materials and machined components, using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to verify dimensions and surface finishes against blueprints.

The ideal candidate has prior QC experience in sheet metal fabrication and machining, with strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Quality Control Inspector in a sheet metal fabrication and machining environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficiency using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects such as cracks, pits, and weld imperfections.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of raw materials, fabricated parts, and machined components.
• Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, to verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints to confirm product specifications.
• Identify, tag, and quarantine non-conforming materials and parts to prevent production or shipment of defective products.
• Prepare and maintain accurate inspection reports, NCRs, and COCs.
• Maintain thorough inspection documentation and support quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
