Job summary

Schatz Bearing Corporation in Poughkeepsie, NY is seeking a QA Inspector to join our aerospace bearing team. You will read and interpret quality requirements and drawings, and help ensure parts meet ISO 9000/AS 9100 standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Experience with inspection, SPC, GD&T, PPAP, FMEA, and FAI is a plus. A high school diploma or GED is required; good computer skills are needed to document results efficiently.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent GED.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quality requirements, procedures, drawings, technical literature, or industry standards, and effectively present information and respond to questions from other inspectors, managers and other personnel.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts, such as geometry and general math, and to understand basic SPC, process capability analysis, and Gage R&R.
• Reasoning and Problem Solving Ability: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of Word, Excel, Access and other Microsoft products.
• Other Skills and Abilities: AS 9100, GD&T, PPAP, FMEA, FAI, and SPC.

Growing aerospace/defense bearing manufacturer is seeking a QA Inspector. The company will consider entry level applicants; however, it is preferred that they have a background in Quality Assurance in a Manufacturing Environment. Candidates must either have inspection experience with mechanical inspection instruments and/or an above average mechanical aptitude. Familiarity with ISO 9000 or AS 9100 and core quality system elements is also preferred. An ability to interpret engineering basic drawings and industry standards is required to ensure parts quality. Problem solving skills (e.g., Six Sigma, FMEA) is a big plus. Applicants need to be self‑starters, detail oriented and able to perform in a fast‑paced work environment.
