Job summary

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) in Carthage, TX is seeking a QC Inspector to join our site team. You will perform receiving inspections, ensure only approved welders and materials are used, and manage document control within our CMS system.

You will travel 100% to field locations, actively participate in safety culture, and support a one-stop construction and engineering approach. This role requires 2+ years in oil & gas QC and strong communication in English.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience as Quality Control Inspector in Oil & Gas.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Willingness to travel 100% of the time to locations outside Houston area.
  • Must read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving Inspection: Approve incoming supplier materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Construction Quality Control: Confirming only approved welders, procedures, materials etc. are used; inspections performed professionally, safely and without bias.
  • Document Control: Document inspection results by completing reports/logs and inputting data into CMS.
  • We Expect All Field Employees To: Lead safety and environmental culture at field sites; participate in onsite safety meetings; follow safety policies.
  • Additional tasks include recognizing hazards, staying on time, and working in a team environment.

What You Will Do
Responsibilities for a QC Inspector include
Team Leader
  • Effectively work with others to implement improvements to quality and/or performance.
  • Receiving Inspection:
  • Approve incoming supplier materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
Construction Quality Control
  • Confirming only approved welders, procedures, materials etc. are being used in production.
  • Inspections are performed professionally, safely and without bias.
Document Control
  • Document inspection results by completing reports/logs and inputting data into OPD's Construction Management System (CMS).

  • Serve as an accountable leader of Safety and Environmental Concerns at Field Sites.
  • Actively participate in a strong safety culture
  • Recognize safety hazards and risks
  • Participate in onsite safety meetings
  • Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures
  • Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite
  • Be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work
  • Display a positive attitude and be able to work in a team environment
Some Physical Demands Of Being a QC Inspector Include
  • Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.
  • Standing for extended periods of time up to 12 hours per day.
  • Moving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.
  • Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • 2+ years of experience as Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
  • Basic Computer Skills
Other Job Requirements
  • Willing to travel 100% of the time to locations that could be outside the Houston area.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • 5+ years of experience as Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry
  • AWS CWI Certification.
  • ASNT Level II VT Certification.
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Tech Grade 1
  • Visual acuity to Jaeger J1 test chart within the last 12 months.
  • NACE Coating Inspector Certification.
  • API Certifications (570, 510, or 653)
  • Knowledge of AMSE Section V, IX and B31.3.
