Job summary

Optimized Process Designs (OPD) is seeking a QC Inspector for fieldwork at the Carthage, TX site. You will perform receiving inspections, verify welders, procedures, materials, and maintain documentation in CMS. Safety and accuracy are essential.

The role requires 2+ years in QC in Oil & Gas, strong communication, and ability to travel 100% to sites. AWS CWI and related certifications are a plus and the environment emphasizes teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
• Basic Computer Skills

Responsibilities

• Approve incoming supplier materials by confirming specifications and conducting visual/measurement tests.
• Confirming only approved welders, procedures, materials etc. are being used in production.
• Document inspection results and inputting data into OPD's Construction Management System (CMS).
• Serve as an accountable leader of Safety and Environmental Concerns at Field Sites; participate in safety meetings.

The jobsite located in Carthage, TX has an opening for a QC Inspector.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities for a QC Inspector include

Team Leader

• Effectively work with others to implement improvements to quality and/or performance.
• Receiving Inspection:
• Approve incoming supplier materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

Construction Quality Control

• Confirming only approved welders, procedures, materials etc. are being used in production.
• Inspections are performed professionally, safely and without bias.

Document Control

• Document inspection results by completing reports/logs and inputting data into OPD's Construction Management System (CMS).

Some physical demands of being a QC Inspector include

• Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.
• Standing for extended periods of time up to 12 hours per day.
• Moving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.
• Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• 2+ years of experience as Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
• Basic Computer Skills

Other Job Requirements

• Willing to travel 100% of the time to locations that could be outside the Houston area.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

What Will Put You Ahead

• 5+ years of experience as Quality Control Inspector in the Oil & Gas Industry
• AWS CWI Certification.
• ASNT Level II VT Certification.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Tech Grade 1
• Visual acuity to Jaeger J1 test chart within the last 12 months.
• NACE Coating Inspector Certification.
• API Certifications (570, 510, or 653)
• Knowledge of AMSE Section V, IX and B31.3.
