Job summary

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) in Baytown, TX is seeking a Material Expeditor to coordinate material flow on an active jobsite, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with production schedules.

You will inspect delivered materials, track their location, and support safety and teamwork while upholding OPD and client safety policies on site. Ideal candidates have 1+ years in gas plant construction with pipe and fittings, can read drawings, and are ready to work outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of pipe, valves and fittings experience in gas plant construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and material specs.
• Able to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and teamwork orientation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and expedite flow of materials within the jobsite, according to production and shipping schedules.
• Examine material delivered to jobsite for damages.
• Arrange on site transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
• Maintain status and location of materials.
• Monitor and control movement of material upon arrival to the site.
• Must be a team player that makes customer focus and satisfaction a top priority in all business decision making.
• Being a safety role model for the team.
• Enforcing OPD and client specific safety policies and procedures on the jobsite

What You Will Do

Some Physical Demands Of Being a Material Expeditor

• Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.
• Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs
• Moving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.
• Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• One or more years of experience working with pipe, valves, and fittings in a gas plant construction environment
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and material specifications
• Able and willing to work in a fast paced, demanding environment with critical deadlines
• Highly motivated with excellent problem-solving skills
• Must be willing and able to meet all physical demands of the job
• Must be able and willing to attend mandatory safety meetings
• Willingness and ability to work in a team environment with a customer focus
