Job summary

Lilly, Concord QC facility in North Carolina, is hiring a QC Incoming Technician (B3) to inspect and disposition incoming materials per GMP requirements. Qualifications

Job Description

The QC Incoming Technician performs inspection, sampling, and disposition support activities for incoming materials in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements, site procedures, and material specifications. The technician serves as a critical control point in the material supply chain, ensuring that only compliant materials are released for manufacturing and laboratory use. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound documentation practices, and the ability to work effectively with Warehouse, Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance (QA), and Manufacturing partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and attribute inspections of incoming materials, including consumables, device components, primary and secondary packaging components, Printed Packaging Materials (PPM), and laboratory media, in accordance with approved specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Verify supplier documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (CoA) and Certificates of Conformance (CoC), against specification requirements.
  • Perform PPM verification activities, including text, artwork, barcode, and color verification against approved master copies.
  • Identify, segregate, and elevate nonconforming materials in accordance with site procedures.
  • Record inspection results accurately and contemporaneously in compliance with ALCOA+ data integrity principles (Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, Accurate, and Complete, Consistent, Enduring, and Available).
  • Enter and maintain inspection results and material status in SAP and the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Support the creation and maintenance of SAP inspection characteristics for new and existing materials.
  • Review and revise SOPs, work instructions, and inspection forms as assigned.
  • Initiate and support deviations, nonconformance reports, and supplier complaints related to incoming materials.
  • Participate in investigations and support Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) as assigned.
  • Support internal self-inspections, corporate audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Maintain training compliance and a state of inspection readiness within the work area.
  • Partner with Warehouse, Procurement, QA, and Manufacturing to prioritize inspections and support material availability for production schedules.
  • Communicate inspection status, backlogs, and material issues to team leadership in a timely manner.
  • Identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, compliance, and right-first-time performance.
Basic Requirements
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
  • Experience working in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device environment.
  • Experience with SAP, LIMS (preferably LabVantage), and electronic document management systems such as Veeva Vault.
  • Experience performing incoming inspection of materials such as consumables, components, media, and printed packaging materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to good documentation practices.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
Additional Information

This position is primarily based on site and may require work in warehouse and controlled environments, including gowning where applicable. The role may require lifting and moving materials, standing for extended periods, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Occasional overtime, off-shift, or weekend support may be required based on business needs.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $18.75 - $35.96 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
