Job summary

Akumen, Inc. is seeking a skilled QA Tester with ServiceNow experience to join our team supporting a high-functioning development team at the Department of State.

The Analyst will join a QA team that is implementing automated test frameworks for both Azure custom development and ServiceNow (using ATF). The mid-level candidate will have automation testing exposure, work across platforms, and collaborate with developers, business partners, and product owners.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of manual testing in full lifecycle/agile environments.
• 1-2 years of automation testing experience.
• Hands-on experience testing software applications in Azure cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement various types of testing (e.g., regression, manual, functional, data validation, system integration, load, or performance tests) for new and existing functionality.
• Work closely with development teams to design testing strategies and integrate testing into the development process.
• Plan, create, execute, and automate test cases, collaborating with business partners, developers, and other stakeholders.
• Document and analyze test results and recommend corrective actions.
• Isolate, reproduce, manage, and maintain defects and test case databases, and verify fixes.
• Support user acceptance testing conducted by business partners or end users.
• Conduct exploratory testing and risk analysis for complex features, especially those that span across platforms or teams.
• Define and champion quality and testing best practices among development team in an Agile environment.
• Collaborate and share information with other software QA engineers.
• Write test cases, map out test scenarios, design reusable automated test scripts, and execute tests daily.
• Test solutions in terms of functionality, performance, reliability, stability, and compatibility with other legacy and/or external systems.
• Work closely with developers, professional services team, and product owners to define the testing components to validate requirements against developed software.
• Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements, and design test coverage plans.
• Identify any potential quality issues per the defined process and elevate potential quality issues immediately to management.
• Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
• Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes.
