Job summary

Home Market Foods is seeking a Quality Assurance Technologist for our evening production shift to uphold food safety and product quality across our line.

You will monitor HACCP and SQF, collect samples, conduct sensory evaluations, train on GMPs, and collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Sales, Maintenance, and Operations. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role supporting our nationwide product safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent QA experience in food manufacturing.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Proficiency with standard office software (Word, Excel).
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HACCP requirements, SQF systems, and food safety programs.
• Conduct pre-op and operational inspections.
• Collect micro, chemical, and product quality samples.
• Maintain communication with Production, Maintenance, USDA & FDA.
• Evaluate storage conditions and pest control checks.
• Assist with training on GMPs, HACCP, SQF & quality procedures.
• Troubleshoot food safety/quality issues in real time.
• Perform sensory evaluations (taste, smell, texture, visual).
• Support cross-functional teams: R&D, Marketing, Sales, Maintenance, Operations.
• Validate metal detection, thermometer calibration, and process control equipment.
• Participate in daily product cutting and plant-wide performance audits.
• Jump in on special projects as needed.

Pay Range: $57,000 to $85,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)

What You’ll Do:

You’ll be the go-to quality & food safety expert on your shift, ensuring everything meets our high standards:

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field— OR — 3+ years QA experience in food manufacturing
• Food manufacturing QA experience (not biotech/pharma)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
• Ability to stay focused, learn quickly, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Physical ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, and work around production activity
