Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician II to join the Quality department. You will work with production and operations to assure quality across pressure products and collaborate with engineering and project management.

Responsibilities include QA testing, inspections, audits, and documentation. The role requires experience in QA/QC, familiarity with NDE/NDT, coatings, and welding, and certifications such as ACI/NAS/NACE or API where applicable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a QA, QC, or production role in a similar or related industry.
• Experience in concrete, civil, coatings, welding, or NDE/NDT technologies.
• Certifications or training: Level I/equivalent in ACI Field Test Technician; NDE/NDT MT, PT, RT, UT, VT (ASNT SNT-TC-1A NAS 410); NACE/SPCC Coating Inspector; API 510/570/577.
• Level II/equivalent certifications in ACI Field Test Technician; AWS CWI (preferred) or CAWI; NDE/NDT MT, PT, RT, UT, VT (ASNT SNT-TC-1A NAS 410).
• STEM-related associate or bachelor’s degree.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Bilingual English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Study and understand the QA quality manual and repair procedures.
• Learn and apply codes, specifications, drawings, and procedures in daily operations.
• Proctor qualification testing of welders and record test results.
• Inspect pieces, components, and parts including coating, concrete, lining, loading, and welding-related methods.
• Perform nondestructive examination/testing and collaborate with vendors.
• Conduct internal audits and training as needed.
• Maintain QA inspection/test reports and calibration/lab records; close out nonconformances.
