Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) in Lincoln, Nebraska, seeks a QA Technician II for the 3rd shift. You will apply quality procedures to evaluate materials, components, and processes, supporting ISO/AS9120-style standards and internal quality targets.

Qualifications

  • Vocational/Technical training with 1–2 years of experience or equivalent combination.
  • Preferred Associate's Degree in a related field.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and audits is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and specify activities, processes, and standards to fulfill quality requirements for materials and products.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure and systems to ensure timely delivery of quality products.
  • Identify and address equipment performance issues.
  • Audit, monitor, and assess manufacturing processes against internal and regulatory standards.
  • Report and troubleshoot manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods.
  • Conduct material or sample tests to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.

Job Summary

Follows policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations | Follows and/ or develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes through standard procedures & systems (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000 & AS9100 standards), quality audits/ review process, etc. Responsibilities are within the Quality Assurance Methods Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines

Essential Functions
  • Define and specify activities, processes, and standards to fulfill the quality requirements for materials, components, or products.
  • Build and maintain the infrastructure and systems necessary to consistently ensure the timely delivery of quality products.
  • Identifies and addresses any issues with equipment performance.
  • Auditing, monitoring, and determining the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards.
  • Reporting and troubleshooting manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods
  • Conducts tests on materials or samples to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Quality or related degree preferred
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise. Ability to identify and seek needed information. Research skills. Problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
