Job summary

SK Food Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support GMP and food safety processes in Tolleson, AZ. The role involves collecting measurements, auditing finished products, and coordinating with production on regulatory issues.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with 1–2 years of related experience and is comfortable using lab equipment and iPads for data collection. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quality of finished products, raw ingredients and packaging materials, ensuring GMP and food safety practices.
• Collect measurements, test and report results to ensure specification ranges.
• Ensure sandwiches are built to specification and conduct in-line audits for spec compliance.
• Coordinate with production on regulatory and quality issues and document corrective actions.
• Assist in training incoming QA technicians and perform pre-operational inspections and ATP swabs.
• Assist in pilot runs and data collection; ensure package integrity and accuracy.

Salary Range: $21.52 To $24.10 Hourly

POSITION SPECIFICS

Reports To: Quality Assurance Supervisor

FLSA Status: Hourly

SUMMARY

• Assist with tasks related to quality of finished products, raw ingredients and packaging materials. Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety practices are followed.
• Collect measurements, test and report results on various components to ensure they fall within specification ranges.
• Ensure that sandwiches are being built to specification.
• Conduct in line audits/product assessments for specification compliance on food products.
• Coordinate with production on regulatory and quality issues and document corrective actions.
• Ensure GMPs are being followed.
• Assess facility for sanitary compliance.
• Collect weights and measurements of finished good products.
• Ensure package integrity and accuracy.
• Follow the HACCP Plan to ensure food safety.
• Coordinate with production on regulatory and quality issues and document corrective actions.
• Assist with training incoming QA technicians.
• Demonstrate ability to perform pre-operational inspection and ATP swabs.
• Assist in pilot runs and data collection as needed.
• Ensure package integrity and accuracy.
• Other duties as assigned.

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma, or equivalent, and 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Bachelor’s Degree in scientific field preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

HACCP certification preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

REQUIRED TRAINING

This position requires training on Good Manufacturing Practices critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency. Training is also required on how to identify food safety issues such as temperature control, cross-contamination, sanitation and cleanliness of the lines, etc., critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency.
