Job summary

SK Food Group in Groveport, OH is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support finished products, raw ingredients and packaging materials, ensuring GMP and food safety practices are followed.

You will collect measurements, conduct in-line audits, coordinate with production on regulatory issues, and assist training of new QA technicians. This hourly, full-time role requires 1–2 years related experience and a high school diploma, HACCP preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of related experience or training.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in scientific field preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Collect measurements, test and report results on components to ensure spec ranges.
  • Ensure sandwiches are built to specification and products meet QA standards.
  • Conduct in-line audits and product assessments for specification compliance.
  • Coordinate with production on regulatory/quality issues and document corrective actions.
  • Follow HACCP plan and assist training of incoming QA technicians.

ROLE
SUMMARY:

Assist with tasks related to quality of finished products, raw ingredients and packaging materials. Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety practices are followed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Collect measurements, test and report results on various components to ensure they fall within specification ranges.
  • Ensure that sandwiches are being built to specification.
  • Conduct in line audits/product assessments for specification compliance on food products.
  • Coordinate with production on regulatory and quality issues and document corrective actions.
  • Ensure GMPs are being followed.
  • Assess facility for sanitary compliance.
  • Collect weights and measurements of finished good products.
  • Ensure package integrity and accuracy.
  • Follow the HACCP Plan to ensure food safety.
  • Coordinate with production on regulatory and quality issues and document corrective actions.
  • Assist with training incoming QA technicians.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform pre-operational inspection and ATP swabs.
  • Assist in pilot runs and data collection as needed.
  • Ensure package integrity and accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma, or equivalent, and 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Bachelor’s Degree in scientific field preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
  • HACCP certification preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to use iPad/tablet.
  • Ability to operate standard lab equipment.
  • Excellent time management and task prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be detailed and organized.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs),
  • Knowledge of Food Safety fundamentals is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail; data and sample collection, accuracy in paperwork.
  • Good decision making and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and product specifications.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of organization
REQUIRED TRAINING

This position requires training on Good Manufacturing Practices critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency. Training is also required on how to identify food safety issues such as temperature control, cross-contamination, sanitation and cleanliness of the lines, etc., critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency.
