Job summary

J&J Snack Foods Corp. is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician I to monitor quality across raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. You will test samples, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and support continuous improvement in the production process.

Key duties include auditing GMP practices, documenting results, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address quality issues in real time.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in food science or biology is a plus.
  • Previous experience in quality control within food manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and SQF regulations is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Follow GMP policies, document and record-keep per company standards.
  • Assist in maintaining Food Safety and Quality programs.
  • Conduct daily GMP facility audits with corrective actions.
  • Inspect raw materials, in-process products and finished goods for quality.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of theFSQA & EHS Supervisor, theQualityAssuranceTechnicianIwill consistently follow processes and procedurestoeffectively measure, evaluate, and test samples of the Company product to ensure it meets food safety, quality, and customer specifications.This role involves inspecting raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, company policies, and customer specifications. The QATechnicianIplaysa critical role inmaintainingproduct consistency and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Complies withenforcement of all GMP policies, documentation, and record keepingin accordance withcompany standards.
  • AssistswithmaintainingFood Safety and Quality programs.
  • Conducts daily GMP facility audits with corrective action follow-up.EnforcesGMPs at the plant.
  • Reviews and verifies productiondocuments
  • Placesout of specification productor raw materialon hold status.
  • Advisestheappropriatepartyof issuesin a timely manner.
  • Conducts routine inspections and testing of raw materials, products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitors and documents production processes to ensure compliance with established procedures and food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, and SQF).
  • Assistsin the calibration and maintenance of testing equipment(including metal detection devices)to ensure accuracy.
  • Collectsand recordsdata from quality tests. Prepares reports and providesfeedback to the production team.
  • Collaborateswith the production team toidentifyand addressfood safety andquality issues in real time.
  • Assistsin the investigation of customer complaints related to product quality and help implement corrective actions.
  • Maintainsclean and organized workspaces in compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Supportsinternal audits andparticipatein continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conducts pre-operational inspections at the start of production runs
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Performsotherduties asassigned byFSQA & EHS Supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in food science, biology, or a related field is a plus.
  • Previousexperience in quality control, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, such as HACCP, GMP, and SQF.

US Hourly Pay Range

$17 - $17 USD
