You'll inspect raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and engineering drawings, as part of our Quality team.WHAT YOU'LL DOPerform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections per established inspection plans, including dimensional verification and coating inspections, and maintain accurate inspection recordsVisually inspect welded joints for compliance, detecting flaws such as cracks, cold welds, spatter, and undercuts per ES1124 and other specificationsVerify finished product dimensions and conformance with drawings and work order specificationsInspect and help release received raw materials, supplied components, and finished products, ensuring compliance with drawings, purchase orders, specifications, and MTRsProficiently operate measurement equipment, including tape measures, calipers, thread gauges, go/no-go gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, height gauges, and coating thickness gaugesPrepare nonconformance reports (NCRs) and assist with corrective and preventive action (CAPA) documentation, including root cause analysis using 5 Whys and Fishbone methodologiesIdentify, isolate, and label nonconforming materials, and notify the Global QA Manager and Production Manager/Supervisor of any discrepanciesAssist with calibration of inspection instruments and gauges, and update calibration recordsSupport internal quality audits in accordance with ISO 9001 standards, and assist with supplier audits and quality investigationsSupport Statistical Process Control (SPC) data collection and monitoring, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) where applicableAssist with training of production employees and communicate with shift supervisors, engineering, and other quality personnel on quality-related issuesParticipate in Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen improvement eventsMaintain safe work conditions, proper PPE usage, and an organized work area; escalate safety, quality, or process concerns immediatelyPerform other duties as assignedWHAT YOU NEEDHigh school diplomaComputer literacy with Microsoft Office SuiteGood written and oral communication skillsAbility to work independently, efficiently, self-motivated, and detail orientedAbility to physically perform testing such as dye-penetrant, magnetic particle, and dry film thicknessWillingness to work overtime and weekends as requiredNICE TO HAVEExperience in a manufacturing/steel fabrication environmentWorking knowledge of arc welding processes for carbon, stainless, and alloy metalsFamiliarity with liquid and powder type coatingsFamiliarity with ASTM specifications, AWWA standards, and AWS/ASME welding codesGood understanding of shop math and ability to read a tape measure and measuring toolsAbility to read and interpret drawings and blueprintsGood problem-solving capabilitiesBilingual (English/Spanish)COMPENSATIONThe hourly pay range for this position is $24-28 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
