Job summary

Victaulic, based in Cookeville, TN, seeks a Production Supervisor to lead a welding team on the shop floor, owning safety, throughput and quality. You’ll partner with production managers, QA and maintenance to keep orders moving and performance on target.

You’ll use data-driven decision making to drive improvements, manage 5S standards, and develop direct reports toward increased responsibilities in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing or metal fabrication; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong welding knowledge for carbon and alloy steels (FCAW/SMAW/GTAW/GMAW).
• Excellent numeracy and mechanical aptitude; good communication.
• Experience reading blueprints and dimensions; allocate resources.

Responsibilities

• Own core manufacturing KPIs: schedule adherence, throughput, FPY, and WIP.
• Provide day-to-day direction for welding and pipe fit-up.
• Review work orders and drawings for accuracy; ensure quality.
• Lead safety and 5S/visual management; coordinate with maintenance.
• Present KPI updates to leadership; develop direct reports.

In this role, you’ll own the floor — leading a team of skilled production and welding employees and taking accountability for the people, the numbers, and the day-to-day decisions that drive throughput, quality, and safety every shift. You’ll work closely with Production Managers, QA, Maintenance, and planning and materials teams to keep your area running to standard, develop the bench beneath you, and represent the heartbeat of the floor to leadership.
