Job summary

Victaulic is seeking a Metal Lab/Quality Technician for 2nd and 3rd shifts. The role involves maintaining safe working conditions, performing metal lab tests, calibrating equipment, and generating test reports.

You will participate in safety trainings and toolbox talks to ensure adherence to OSHA and company standards. Responsibilities include calibrations, PT/CS meter testing, Brinell hardness tests, microstructure evaluations, and data reporting.

Qualifications

• Ability to work unsupervised and communicate with other departments.
• Experience with basic lab tests and calibration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Attend safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
• Investigate accidents and near misses and report findings.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot test equipment in the metal lab.
• Perform chemistry evaluations using lab instruments.
• Retrieve and test sand samples and conduct microstructure evaluations.
• Perform Brinell hardness and mechanical property testing.
• Use hand measuring tools and generate test reports.

Job DescriptionResponsibilities:Understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies. Ensure that safe and sanitary working conditions are maintained in the facility in accordance with Company standards, as well as state & federal laws and regulations. Know and understand your OSHA rights. Conduct safety training topics as required or needed. Responsible for attending all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions. As required, promptly investigate accidents and near misses, completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate root causes.Perform testing in Safe and Timely manner to support manufacturing.This position requires the ability to work unsupervised and communicate with other departmentsPrimary responsibilities will be working in the Metal Lab and may include any of the below listed Quality Functions:Calibrate and Trouble shoot test equipmentChemistry evaluations using Metal Spectrometers and CS MetersRetrieve and Test SandMicrostructure EvaluationsBrinell Hardness TestingMechanical Property TestingUse of Hand Measuring ToolsPerform basic calibrations of measuring devices (Calipers, Mics, etc.)Basic computer skills generating and sending test results/reportsOther duties as assignedOur current openings are on 2nd and 3rd shift
