Job summary

Victaulic in Lawrenceville, GA, is seeking a Quality Lab Technician to support the metal lab operations. You will calibrate and troubleshoot test equipment, perform chemistry and mechanical evaluations, and generate test results and reports.

This role requires working in 2nd or 3rd shift, ability to work unsupervised, collaborate with other departments, and adhere to safety rules and regulations to maintain safe, sanitary lab conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to understand and follow safety rules and policies.
• Ability to perform calibration and testing in a metal lab environment.
• Experience with basic lab equipment and measurement tools.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting test results.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and troubleshoot test equipment in the metal lab.
• Perform chemistry evaluations using metal spectrometers and CS meters.
• Retrieve and test sand samples and conduct microstructure evaluations.
• Conduct Brinell hardness and mechanical property testing.
• Utilize hand measuring tools and perform basic calibrations of devices.
• Generate and send test results and reports; support manufacturing.
• Work unsupervised and communicate with other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Support 2nd and 3rd shift operations.

Ensure that safe and sanitary working conditions are maintained in the facility in accordance with Company standards, as well as state & federal laws and regulations. Know and understand your OSHA rights. Conduct safety training topics as required or needed. Responsible for attending all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions. As required, promptly investigate accidents and near misses, completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate root causes.

Primary responsibilities will be working in the Metal Lab and may include any of the below listed Quality Functions:

• Calibrate and Trouble shoot test equipment
• Chemistry evaluations using Metal Spectrometers and CS Meters
• Retrieve and Test Sand
• Microstructure Evaluations
• Brinell Hardness Testing
• Mechanical Property Testing
• Use of Hand Measuring Tools
• Perform basic calibrations of measuring devices (Calipers, Mics, etc.)
• Basic computer skills generating and sending test results/reports
• Other duties as assigned
