Job summary

Lactalis American Group in Idaho is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to assist QA Managers in meeting GMP, GSP, and regulatory requirements. You will inspect and audit operations, support customer and regulatory inspections, and help drive quality and service across the plant.

The role requires 2–3 years in quality control/assurance, 2+ years in management, and a bachelor’s in Food, Dairy, or Natural Science.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food, Dairy, or Natural Science from a four-year college/university preferred.
• 2–3 years’ experience in both Quality Control and Quality Assurance; 2+ years in management.
• Specialized knowledge: HACCP, ISO quality management systems; USDA/FDA familiarity.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Maintains QA objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
• Oversees insect and rodent prevention programs and follow up with plant sanitation.
• Informs all essential personnel on new/changing regulations related to the Quality Control function within responsibility.
• Cooperates with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and goals.
• Demonstrates professionalism in all aspects of plant’s rules and regulations and encourages quality personnel performance.
• Identifies strengths and/or weaknesses of the employees and demonstrates the ability to train and coach to strengthen weaknesses and utilize strengths.
• Performs administrative managerial duties in an accurate, timely, and professional manner (phone calls, voicemail, paperwork, meetings).
• Works to facilitate the exchange of data between various departments and QA employees to ensure quality compliance is met.
• Maintains open communication with all employees and managers; actively seeks ways to improve employee relations.
• Performs daily, weekly, and monthly observations and submits written monthly plant inspections with conditions needing improvement to plant management.
• Communicates results to production, packaging, and managers when discrepancies arise and offers solutions.
