Job summary

Traditions Prepared Meals in Jackson, MS, is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee daily QA activities in a frozen prepared meals facility. You will supervise QA staff, support food safety programs, and ensure products meet USDA/FDA requirements.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will review records, verify compliance, lead investigations into nonconformities, and coordinate corrective actions with production, maintenance, and management.

Qualifications

• QA or food safety experience in food manufacturing.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, allergen controls, and USDA/FDA requirements.
• HACCP certification preferred; SQF experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and coach QA technicians and coordinate daily assignments.
• Verify compliance with GMPs, sanitation procedures, HACCP plans, and prerequisite programs.
• Review ingredient verification, allergen controls, labels, lot codes, expiration dates, and case labels for accuracy.
• Monitor production checks, including temperatures, portion weights, packaging integrity, and metal detection.
• Review QA and production records for accuracy and completeness before product release.
• Identify nonconforming products, initiate holds, and coordinate disposition with the QA Manager.
• Investigate customer complaints and food safety concerns; document corrective and preventive actions.
• Support environmental monitoring, inspections, internal audits, SQF preparation, and mock recalls.
• Communicate food safety and quality concerns promptly to production, maintenance, and management.
• Ensure employees follow documentation requirements and report issues accurately.
