Job summary

Traditions Prepared Meals is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to oversee daily QA activities in a frozen prepared meals facility. You will supervise QA staff, support food safety programs, and ensure products meet USDA and FDA requirements.

The role requires HACCP/GMP knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with production, maintenance, and management to prevent issues and ensure compliant product releases.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality assurance or food safety in food manufacturing.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, sanitation, allergen controls, and USDA/FDA requirements.
• HACCP certification preferred; SQF experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to review records and work closely with production teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and coach QA technicians and coordinate daily assignments.
• Verify compliance with GMPs, sanitation procedures, HACCP plans, and prerequisite programs.
• Review ingredient verification, allergen controls, labels, lot codes, expiration dates, and case labels for accuracy.
• Monitor production checks, including temperatures, portion weights, packaging integrity, and metal detection.
• Review QA and production records for accuracy and completeness before product release.
• Identify nonconforming products, initiate holds, and coordinate disposition with the QA Manager.
• Investigate customer complaints and food safety concerns; document corrective and preventive actions.
• Support environmental monitoring, inspections, internal audits, SQF preparation, and mock recalls.
• Communicate food safety and quality concerns promptly to production, maintenance, and management.
• Ensure employees follow documentation requirements and report issues accurately.

Work includes time on the production floor and in refrigerated or frozen areas. Must follow required PPE and hygiene practices and be available to work scheduled production shifts, including weekends as needed.
